Incorporated on 25 November 1986, the company provides a wide range of financial services to retail and institutional clients. Charles Schwab operates in two key segments: Investor Services and Advisor Services. The Investor Services division is responsible for discount brokerage services and banking through Schwab Bank. The Advisor Services division offers custody, technology, trading, practice management and other services to approximately 7,000 independent investment advisors. Charles Schwab has over 325 branches in 45 American states, as well as a branch in London and one in Puerto Rico. There is also a subsidiary in Hong Kong.
